Foundation Stage had another wonderful visit to Combermere Barracks last week. Our thanks must go to Peter Storer and his team who treated the children to a most memorable day. They all enjoyed dressing up and found out how hard it is to blow the trumpet. They were also thrilled to watch Mrs Core, Mrs Marshall and Miss Clancy try on the full ceremonial dress of the Household Cavalry. There was a treasure hunt for them in the museum, where they were able to find out a lot of historical information and also climb up onto a real saddle. They also had a close up view of the horses and had the opportunity to feed them some of their own apple cores. A lot of the tanks and armoured vehicles were also on show and the children were all in awe of the size of them all!

A picnic in the grounds was followed by the walk home, where some of them started to flag - that is until we detoured via the park, enabling the children to finish off a really lovely day.
