Today we travelled back to 1666 to visit London. We saw the wooden Tudor homes and the narrow cobbled streets. We thought about some jobs we might have had; gong farmer, rat catcher, chandler, maid, chimneysweep and blacksmith were just some. We acted out our roles. On 2nd September 1666 we woke up to a raging fire, we tried to save our belongings or bury them if we had time. We went to the river and tried to get across to safety in boats. Some people tried to fight the fire with leather buckets and fire squirts but the wind was strong and kept fanning the flames. King Charles II ordered houses to be pulled down to create breaks that the fire couldn't spread across. After 4 days we got the fire under control.
