Foundation Stage have been learning about several different festivals. They learned about the Festival of Lights - Diwali - and all the children explored Rangoli patterns through the use of shapes and by collaging patterns with coloured rice. They also experimented with decorating handprints with patterns like mehndi. The children also learned about the story of Guy Fawkes and why we celebrate each year with fireworks. Each child made their own 3D model of a rocket and also created some wonderful firework patterns using cardboard tubes. Finally they took part in two minutes silence with the rest of the school to mark Remembrance Day. The children from army families proudly told their friends about their own Daddy's work in the Forces and everyone painted poppies to help them remember.

Here are some photos of everything they have been doing.
