Year 1 children have been learning about houses and homes in their geography lessons this term. They have especially enjoyed describing their homes and learning about houses in other countries. They have worked very hard on fantastic artwork based on igloos and mud huts.
Year 1 children have been learning about the four seasons in their science lessons this term. They have especially enjoyed singing songs about the seasons and learning about how and why the seasons change. They have worked very hard on beautiful artwork based on the current season of autumn.
Stuart class were very lucky to have a very talented parent come in to help us write our name on papyrus in hieroglyphics. Everyone had a fantastic time.

Celts and Romans have been learning all about "Ourselves". We have been looking at the similarities and differences between us all. The children then studied their own faces in a mirror and created their own images on paper plates. See if you can spot anyone!
Year 4 watched active volcanoes come to life with the magic of Virtual Reality.
This was kindly funded by the Parent's Group. The children had a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
The pyramids of Egypt came to life as Year 3 were treated to a virtual tour courtesy of the Parent's Group. The children had a fantastic time learning about Ancient Egypt.
A very warm welcome to all the new children and their families. Everyone is starting to settle into the new routines and making new friends.

All books are 20p - come and buy some pre-loved books. After school they will be on the front playground with an honesty box. Children will also have opportunities during the last days of term to come and choose during the school day.
Year 3 designed and built their own boats in pairs as part of a DT and Scientific Enquiry project.
The boats had to float for at least a minute and hold a minimum of 10 x 1p coins.
After a number of heats and sinkings the eventual winners were Ruby and Miriam from Tudors.

A huge thank you is needed for Mrs Crossland and friends who have transformed our school library into a tidy, welcoming place. We are looking forward to welcoming everyone in September to get our great books being used,borrowed and loved!
Stuarts were treated to a Yoga lesson on Tuesday by Mrs Allott.
We tried lots of different positions, some were easier than others !
The class are looking forward to more Yoga in Year 4.
